It has antithrombotic activity due to its inhibitory effects on platelet. It is used for the prophylactic treatment of thromboembolic disorders, myocardial infarction, transient ischemic attacks & stroke: for the secondary preventing of cardiovascular disease in person with diabetes especially in the following subgroups History of myocardial infarction, vascular bypass procedure, stroke or transient ischemic attack & angina. Persons with additional risk factors: hypertension, smoking, dyslipidemia, & family history of cardiovascular diseases.
